Two men were left hurt after a machete attack in the Black Country. The pair, who are both in their 20s, went to hospital themselves following the violence.

They were set upon at around 10pm last night (November 20) on Kingsclere Walk in Merry Hill, Wolverhampton, police have said. One of the men was treated for a slash wound to his hand, and the other had been hit on the head with a bat and had grazed his ankle.

West Midlands Police officers are now searching for up to six offenders and have appealed for any witnesses to come forward. A spokesperson for the force said: "We’re investigating after two men, in their 20s, were attacked with a machete on Kingsclere Walk in Wolverhampton around 10pm last night (20 Nov).

"Both self-presented at hospital for treatment, where one was treated for a slash wound to his hand and the other was hit on the head with a bat and received a graze to his ankle. Both were discharged following treatment.

"Our inquiries are progressing to identify up to six offenders. We have increased patrols in the area to offer reassurance to the public."
