A man was arrested in Birmingham on suspicion of drug offences. Detectives from West Mercia and West Midlands Police carried out simultaneous raids in Kingstanding and Willenhall on Tuesday, November 21.
A 31-year-old, from Kingstanding, was detained on suspicion of being involved in the supply of Class A drugs. He was taken to Worcester Police Station. A search of addresses found cannabis, a mobile phone and pepper spray.
The raids were linked to the supply of drugs into south Worcestershire – a so-called county line, where drugs are transported from one county area to another.

Det Insp Dave Knight, of South Worcestershire Proactive CID, said: “Our County Lines team is a dedicated and specially-trained team of detectives who continue to disrupt and dismantle drug supply lines into south Worcestershire.
“They will travel across the country in order to do so and will leave no stone unturned in their pursuit to close down lines linked to county lines and protect those who are being exploited.”
West Mercia Police said the warrants formed part of Op Target which sees the force focus on ‘targeting those intent on committing a range of serious and organised crime offences to ensure our communities are kept safe’.
