The straighteners, which are infused with Moroccan argan oil and vitamin E, have a near-perfect rating from more than 25,000 shoppers on the platform who have given them 4.7 stars out of five. Reviewers say the heat tool leave their hair 'smooth' and 'shiny'.

Remington claims that the straighteners ' have been proven to give hair 86% more show-stopping shine'. They have an adjustable temperature setting, which goes from 150 degrees up to 230 degrees.

The hair tool is also currently on sale over at Currys, with the retailer dropping the price to £27.99. It has a 4.5 star rating out of five on that platform too. Just My Look has them for £26.99 where they have a five star rating.

Reviewing them, Debbie Towle wrote: "Love these! Better than GHD and all the other ones I have tried in the shopping malls (you don’t get the same results at home!).

"Easy to change temperature, lightweight so I can take them on holidays, and don’t burn your fingers. Definitely worth trying if you are unsure of which straighteners to use.

"Inexpensive and do the job. I have long, thick, wavy hair. They straighten my hair quickly and without the burning smell."

Gemma C added: "As soon as I got these out the box, they smelt so plasticky and didn't feel particularly nice to hold so I had very low expectations.

"However, they work really well and have made my hair really soft and shiny. My old GHD's has gone in the drawer!"

Spenta Khambatta didn't love them as much, giving them just one star. They wrote: "Very disapointed with this product. I have fine hair and yet it doesn't glide smoothly. No real softness or gloss to the hair after finishing. The so-called pouch is useless."

Laura gave them two stars, writing: "I usually use GHDs but they broke so I've sent them off for repair. I ordered these just to use while I’m waiting for my GHDs to come back and wish I didn't.

"I don't even use them every day, use heat protection too and my hair is so badly damaged I can’t believe it. It feels like it will snap if I pull it and some has. I'm going to need at least six inches cut off when I get my GHDs back."

GHD hair straighteners are also included in the Black Friday sale on Amazon this year. The original set is £98.99, down from £129.
