There used to be a time when you could find a local cinema a short trip away from almost anywhere in Birmingham. Now these beloved picture houses have mostly made way for huge multiplexes, which are crammed with multiple screens.

Many of Birmingham's small cinemas have been lost to time, with some being demolished while others have been transformed into bingo halls or wedding venues. However, those who went to them will still have memories of stunning buildings, smartly dressed staff and watching classic films without being surrounded by people scrolling on their phones.

With that in mind, we decided to dive into our archives to find pictures of Brum's old cinemas and put together a tricky quiz. If you've got any distinct memories of the places included, share them in the comments section as we'd love to hear them. You can find the quiz below - let us know how you get on.

If you're now in the mood for another quiz, you can also take one on some of the famous musicians who have performed at the Odeon in New Street. The venue was once the "must place" to see some of the world's biggest stars in the Midlands.

Well before online booking, fans queued up for hours and even days to get tickets for their favourite groups. Now showing films throughout the day, many still remember the famous cinema for hosting some legendary musicians back in the day.

You can find the quiz here.
