To those who knew her, Natalie Bennett was a devoted mum who loved her four young children. But in reality, she was a killer.

Last month, jurors convicted the 47-year-old of murdering her partner Kasey Anderson following a trial. She was locked up for life, with a minimum term of 18 years, when she was sentenced on Friday, November 10.

In the years before carrying out her cruel murder, Bennett shared hundreds of Facebook posts of her seemingly normal family life. She shared with her Facebook friends when she celebrated Mother's Day and played in the snow with her children.

Photographs taken inside her home showed huge portraits of her children on the walls and homemade cards which they appeared to have made for her, Liverpool Echo reports. In one post from 2018, Bennett said: "Happy birthday 2 my little man 14 years ago u came in 2 my life an god kido ur not just my son ur my best mate I love u mate an ur dad duz as well have a boss day Lil man loads of love kisses an hug love u mate [sic]."

Another post from the same year saw Bennett posing for a picture with her daughter, with a Snapchat filter of bear ears over the top of it. She captioned the post "me and my baby" followed by a series of love heart emojis.

One meme shared by Bennett said: "My children are the reason that I smile, that I laugh, that I cry, my happy place, my frustration, they are what makes my heart beat and sometimes break. My children are my everything."

Liverpool Crown Court heard how the convict stabbed her boyfriend Mr Anderson a week before his 25th birthday in March this year. She callously plunged a knife into his heart before trying to stab him in the head as he lay injured in a neighbour's driveway.

Seriously hurt, he pleaded for help and even told a 999 operator "he was dying". Ring doorbell footage from her neighbour became the most damning evidence against her during trial.

It showed Mr Anderson clutching his chest after he had been stabbed and collapsing to the floor as he called for help, having seemingly tried to flee from his attacker. Bennett was caught on camera aiming one final blow at his head with the knife.

It meant she had undermined any suggestion she had been acting in self-defence. During cross-examination, Bennett claimed she had a poor memory of events.

But she maintained that she only struck out once with the knife - despite Mr Anderson suffering at least two stab wounds and several slash wounds. Bennett was convicted after four hours and 42 minutes of deliberations.

During sentencing, she showed no reaction as she was handed life behind bars. But she put her thumb up to her dad in the public gallery as she was led down to the cells.

Mr Reiz, defending, said Bennett was an 'alcoholic' who had been diagnosed with conditions including a personality disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. He said: "She was drinking every day to excess. There is no doubt that affected her behaviour. Kasey Anderson and Ms Bennett would often get on when they were sober, but as they went on to take drink and drugs it escalated.

"On this occasion, it led to tragic circumstances. She has lived a chaotic lifestyle, but this is a woman who has four children - two of whom are very young. Her incarceration will no doubt be felt by them.

"Ms Bennett recognises that the way she behaved after Kasey Anderson was injured at her hands was disgraceful. She is deeply ashamed at how she behaved. There is little doubt she was under the influence of alcohol. This was a man she loved."
