Adama Traore’s move from Wolves appears to be gathering pace amid reports he is wanted by two Serie A clubs.

The 27-year-old winger is out of contract and, although Wolves have said they would like to keep him, that looks less likely as the summer goes on and the Spaniard is linked with moves from Molineux.

The bookies stopped taking bets on a move to Saudi Arabia last month but he has been strongly linked with AC Milan in the last few days. Now Sky report that Milan are frontrunners for the dynamic forward’s contract although Jose Mourinho’s Roma are also interested.

They say: “Adama Traoré is one of the profiles AC Milan has been working on in the last few hours. The Spanish attacking winger, free on a free transfer after the end of his contract with Wolverhampton , is also liked by Roma, but at the moment the Rossoneri are ahead. In fact, the footballer born in 1996 would prefer to play in the Champions League next season.”

Adama signed a five-year contract when he joined Wolves in 2018 from Middlesbrough but never extended that deal despite going on to play 194 games for the club.

Wolves need to bring in at least one wide player this summer, a need that will be made more acute if, as expected, Adama moves on. They have been linked with Sevilla’s Lucas Ocampos, the 28 year old who only has a year left on his Sevilla contract.

He is well known to Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui who managed him at Sevilla but Fulham are also reportedly interested in the Argentine who can play as a wide forward, an attacking central midfielder or a number 10 and is rated at around £12.9m.
