A Marks and Spencer's velvet jacket has been hailed as the "perfect" blazer and "excellent value for money" by shoppers. Available in black and evergreen ahead of the Christmas party season, it has garnered five star reviews for its versatility.
The M&S's Velvet Relaxed Single Breasted Blazer for women costs £69. Fans say that they've been pleased with how it can be used to "dress up" an outfit to add more glamour or used for a "smart casual" outing.
Shopper Sammy called it "a must-have" blazer adding: "This jacket is beautiful. A nice fit, true to size, and very chic, I love it!" Another called it "Christmas luxury".

Part of the M&S Collection range, the blazer comes in sizes from six to 24. M&S described M&S's Velvet Relaxed Single Breasted Blazer as bringing "a touch of luxe to your look". It added: "The single-breasted style is cut to a relaxed fit, with a shawl collar that complements its flattering drape.
"Its edge-to-edge design has no fastenings for a sleek finish, while the two welt pockets add to the tailored look. Added stretch means it's easy to move in."
One fan gave it five stars and said: "I’ve been looking for the perfect black velvet jacket for a long time and have finally found it. I will dress it up with a satin skirt plus a cami or jumper underneath or I’ll wear it smart casual with jeans, long black or white shirt, a black tank top and jeans."
Another shopper added: "Love this blazer. Bought it to go with the trousers. Great colour. Excellent value for money." Jackie called it "beautiful" and said: "Even had strangers commenting how lovely it is, very comfortable."
Another customer praised M&S's Velvet Relaxed Single Breasted Blazer and said: I’ve tried the blazer with ivory wide leg trousers and blingy cami - also looks good - so many outfits in one. A really useful outfit to own. Another hit for M&S at a reasonable price too."

A user called Bartsmum had a criticism of the jacket: "Lovely jacket but far too long for those us not at least 5’6”. Reached mid thigh on me and although it fitted across the shoulders and the sleeves weren’t too long, the body length made it look too big.."
Jean also said: "This blazer is a great colour and it fits nicely. However I can’t give it five stars because the nap of the velvet runs the wrong way.
"When you stroke velvet it should smooth down but because it’s cut the wrong way it gets rougher as you stroke it . So disappointing but they are not the only company that gets this wrong."
