A man was airlifted to hospital following reports of a stabbing at a home. Police were called to the property in Holgate Drive, Shrewsbury, at around 8.50am today, November 19.

A man in his 30 was found with a serious injury to his torso, police said. He was airlifted to hospital but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Another man, 32, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He remained in police custody pending further investigations.

Insp Gordon Kaye, of West Mercia Police, said: "I’d like to thank the public for their co-operation and patience while we dealt with the incident. I would also like to reassure them that this was an isolated incident and there is no further threat to the public.

"While we continue with our investigation, there will be a police presence at the scene."
