It's that time of year again - the date for Knowle village's Christmas lights has been announced, and it is set to be a festive bonanza. With Knowle's Tudor style high-street, bustling coffee shops and artisan stores dishing out mulled wine and hot chocolate, their annual switch on is always a festive affair.

Once lit up, the village really does look like a scene from The Holiday, and the village's festive event always attracts large crowds of families and revellers ready to see in the start of Christmas. With less than three weeks to go, Visit Knowle, who organise the village's social events, have released details of people can expect on the day.

Father Christmas will be in attendance, as well as local groups that help make the switch on the grand event it always is. Knowle Christmas light switch on will be on Wednesday November 29, kicking off at 4pm.

Visit Knowle took to X, formerly Twitter, to release details of the event. A Visit Knowle spokesperson said: "3 weeks to go until Knowle’s Christmas Light Switch On!

"Proceedings start at 4pm, Weds 29th November when Father Christmas will be joining Knowle Parish Church, Knowle Society, Knowle & Dorridge Lions and Knowle & Dorridge Round Table for the grand switch on."

As per tradition, there will be carol singing and festive cheer before the switch on, which is usually followed by a number of businesses staying open late for a spot of Christmas shopping. The community event is always a hit, and the switch on sees key spots in the village illuminated, including the high street and a magnificent Christmas tree in the village centre.
