Birmingham comic Joe Lycett has been "recommended" for a Cabinet role in Rishi Sunak's surprise reshuffle after he made a "brutal but brilliant" retort to ex-Home Secretary Suella Braverman. Fans declared the Kings Heath joker had made the "absolutely perfect" tweet after Braverman's sacking today(Monday November 13).

Soon after news broke of Braverman getting the boot, Lycett commented on X: "Being unemployed is a lifestyle choice". That sparked a flurry of support online with people hailing the 35-year-old worthy of being in the Cabinet himself. Braverman previously announced a clampdown on the homeless using tents saying rough sleeping was a lifestyle choice.

Many described Lycett's words as "brutal and brilliant" and "priceless" while Grainne Remond said: "You're a legend Joe." While others went further in saying he should be in government, which now includes the return of ex-Prime Minister David Cameron as Foreign Secretary.
