The January transfer window is looming and on the horizon for Aston Villa.

Several players have been linked with a move to Villa Park since Unai Emery took charge last year.

Pedro Goncalves

The Portuguese midfielder has long been linked to Villa. However it is claimed Villa are reluctant to pay his €80million release clause.

It is said they could come back for him in the January window.

Nico Williams

The youngster was flattered by interest from big clubs, with Villa being one of those along with Real Madrid and Barcelona. Emery was claimed to have tried to convince the player over a move earlier this year but Williams opted to stay at the club.

Geny Catamo

The 22-year-old is reportedly being tracked by Villa after breaking through Sporting's first-team.

Catamo has featured in all eight of Sporting’s Primeira Liga games so far this term. Ruben Amorim’s side have made a strong start to the campaign and lead the Portuguese top-flight with seven wins.

Alex Baena

The interest from Baena came this past summer. Emery coached him during his time at Villarreal.

The 21-year-old committed his future to the Yellows by penning a deal until 2028 in January, which removed the €25 million release clause included in his previous contract. His new buy-out price is said to be north of £50 million and he has interest from clubs across Europe, including Barcelona, but it is unclear at this stage whether Villa would consider a move for him this summer.

Samuel Iling Junior

Villa were heavily linked with the striker in the summer and could now look to make another move in January. However, they will face competition from Tottenham.

According to Italian outlet Tuttosport, Villa and Premier League rivals Everton were "above all" the other suitors in their attempts to sign Iling-Junior over the summer. He also had loan offers from mid-table Serie A clubs, but they were all rejected.
