A driver was treated for injuries after a crash with a lorry that brought part of the M6 to a total standstill last night, November 1. M6 drivers reported total standstill as traffic was held at the M6 between J10 (Wolverhampton/Walsall) and J9 (Wednesbury) after the incident.
999 crews raced to the scene where they found the driver of a car and lorry, treating the driver for injuries. The lorry driver did not wish to be assessed, West Midlands Ambulance confirmed.
There were long delays and two lanes closed due to the incident, which involved a lorry and a car on M6 Southbound. West Midlands Roads released an update to motorists at the time to recommend they plan ahead as congestion stretched back towards the M54.

Live cameras showed traffic snarled up, but within around 90 minutes traffic began moving. Road conditions returned to normal by Thursday morning.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance said: "We were called to reports of a collision involving a lorry and a car on the southbound carriageway of the M6 between junctions 10 and 9 at 7.14pm. One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene.
"The driver of the car, a man, was assessed and treated for minor injuries before being discharged at the scene. The driver of the lorry did not wish to be assessed."
