A renowned country pub on Birmingham outskirts that's loved by Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington is being sold by its long-time owners. Harington, who played Jon Snow in the HBO series, even worked at the Worcestershire pub as a teenager.

The Talbot at Knightwick, near Worcester and in the beautiful Teme Valley, has gone on the market for £1.1million. Estate agent John Goodwin of Ledbury is promoting the sale of the "iconic coaching inn" and hotel along with its renowned Teme Valley Brewery on Rightmove.

Jean Clift, known affectionately as Mrs C, was an integral part of building up the current family business, but died in late 2022. Since then her daughter Annie Clift has been running The Talbot but she is now said to be retiring.

The sale includes the microbrewery where it creates its Teme Valley beers. The brewery opened in 1997, making a name for itself for cask and bottle-conditioned beers. There is also a former bakery at the spot that is a haven for ale lovers.

The atmospheric pub itself has two large public bars, a dining room, function room, 10 en-suite bedrooms, a staff cottage and extensive beer garden.

Estate agent John Goodwin said: "The Talbot Hotel is a Grade II listed property dating originally from the 15th century. It's located close to the Worcestershire/Herefordshire borders enjoying an idyllic location on the banks of the River Teme in the beautiful Teme valley.

"The hotel and pub have developed an outstanding reputation over the 40 years of the careful stewardship of Annie Clift and family and in 2018 The Talbot was awarded the Good Pub Guide Award for Country Dining.

"The business brews and sells its own beer, brewed on site trading as the Teme Valley Brewery. The Talbot has been home to the ever popular Teme Valley Market over the past 25 years which is held every second Sunday of each month.

"For many years the popular on site Bakery produced highly regarded varieties of bread and the equipment remains in place.

"It is set in approximately 2.78 acres with extensive beer garden on the banks of the River Teme and a productive kitchen garden.
