Cadbury has announced it is has returned a long-lost favourite treat after listening to feedback from customers. For almost a decade, the festive treat has been missed by fans.

Cadbury lovers were outraged when the famous chocolate-maker from Birmingham discontinued its Chocolate Coins in 2014. The company was coined Scrooge as grief was aired on social media by fans, reports WalesOnline.

But Cadbury has announced the treat has returned to shelves nine years later due to overwhelming popular demand. The treat will return in time for Christmas, as it is a popular stocking filler.

You can find Chocolate Coins nationwide in a Festive Net, which costs £1.99, or in a decorative Moneytin, costing £6.99. Katie Hill, junior brand manager at Cadbury, said the product represents "festive joy and delicious nostalgia".

Katie said: "If you cast your mind back to 2014, you may remember that Cadbury caused disappointment across the nation, as we announced the sad discontinuation of our much-loved Chocolate Coins. We’ve listened to customer feedback and we’re thrilled to be able to finally announce we’ll be bringing back this beloved holiday treasure this year – a product which represents festive joy and delicious nostalgia for so many."

Sarah Foden, Archivist for Cadbury, added: "It's a joyous moment to see the return of this national treasure that has captivated generations of Cadbury fans over the years. The nostalgia surrounding this iconic product is a testament to its timeless charm, and we're thrilled to bring back the joy and excitement it holds for the Christmas season."

Cadbury is also partnering with the Trussell Trust for the fourth year running this year. Across the season the brand will be donating 100,000 treats to food banks in the Trussell Trust network, as well as making a financial donation to support the Trust’s longer-term mission of fighting hunger in the UK.
