Cadbury has discontinued a chocolate loved at Christmas. They had been a sweet staple in many households, with hungry Brits expressing their love for the snack - but now Snaps has been discontinued by the chocolate giant, which is based in Bournville, ahead of Christmas.

In a bid to save Christmas, the budget retailer Costco has listened to fans' demands and rolled out their dupe. Replying to a consumer, Cadbury said on Twitter, now X: "Hey Shannon, Cadbury Snaps have been discontinued, however we still have lots of other chocolatey treats to try."

"Wish @CadburyUK would bring back snaps! I buy the ones from Lidl now," Chloe wrote. "The pain when you remember a chocolate snack that can only be described as chocolate pringles or Snaps..and then realise they were discontinued 13 years ago. @CadburyUK what would it take to bring back Snaps?" Clara said.

CGracie said: "@CadburyUK Another thing which isn’t talked about enough is the discontinuation of Cadbury’s Snaps. They were everything. Will they ever make a comeback?" Beth said: "Dear @stephenfry ; what the devil is going on with @CadburyUK ’s chocolate? Ever since the take over the size is getting smaller and the ingredients worse. It’s a bare step above @Hersheys vomit flavoured stuff now. I saw a Cadbury egg bend. Bend! They used to snap and shatter!"

Scott said online, after a Change.org petition was launched: "I have very fond memories of these Snaps. They were my favourite chocolates, and were basically chocolate pringles. I would love them for them to come back even if it's for a limited period, so we can all bask in glory that is Cadbury Snaps."

"We used to have them Cadbury Snaps at Christmas. Oh my god they were beautiful," penned another. And another wrote: "Omg remember Cadbury chocolate snaps they only come out at Christmas."
