BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara has been left emotional after celebrating a poignant "first" as she broke an 11-year trend. Janette, who is married to BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Aljaz Skorjanec, spoke out on Instagram after she celebrated her birthday with her mum.

Janette, who now hosts It Takes Two, turned 40 last week. Posing up with her mum in the back of a car, Janette typed: "First birthday celebration with my mom by my side in the last 11 years!! It was a special day for us to be together!." A fanpage replied: "loveeeee," alongside red heart emojis.

"So happy she was able to be here," said another. Amanda typed: "Gorgeous Birthday celebrations - Special Memories." June said: "Belated 1st birthday wishes as a YUMMY MUMMY. 40 is gonna be a good year for you. Hope you enjoyed celebrating with your mummy and Lyra and Alijaz."

"So happy she was able to be here," said another. Deb said: "Lovely picture with your Mum Janette." Joyce said: "Amazing. Your mumma must be so proud." Step Two said: "I love you my Dancing Queen. This year is really special for both with baby Lyra Rose with us."

Fair said: "How lovely for you having your Mum , enjoys ." Maggie said: "How lovely for you." Janette shared her excitement about staring this new decade on Instagram alongside a photo of the new parents hugging their daughter, who adorably looks like she's mid-yawn.

"40 is looking to be the most beautiful year yet," she wrote. "I love you both more than I can ever describe… Counting my blessings." And Aljaz shared a sizzling photo of his beloved in aid of her 40th birthday. Captioning the photo, the devoted husband penned: "Happy Birthday to my now all time favourite wife!

"You are a perfect mother, wife, and the best friend I have always dreamt of! Cheers to at LEAST 50 more years! #40."
