Aston Villa's fell to a fifth consecutive league defeat in the WSL on Saturday afternoon as current champions Chelsea ran out out 6-0 winners at the Bescot Stadium.

Carla Ward's side had hoped to bounce back from their previous losses against Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham but another sub-par performance meant they were well beaten on home soil. Goals from six different scorers, including Chelsea captain Millie Bright, summer signing Ashley Lawrence and England star Fran Kirby put Emma Hayes' side at the top of the table.

Despite being just five games into the 23/24 campaign, Villa boss Carla Ward has already had injuries and suspensions to navigate. Their next test will take place on Sunday, November 12 against Bristol City at Ashton Gate.

Here is a round-up of those sidelined through injury or suspension and their expected return dates...

Kenza Dali

The Villa boss confirmed ahead of their first game of the seaspn that Kenza Dali returned from the World Cup with a knock and would miss the first few weeks of the campaign. She's yet to return to action, despite optimism she would be ready after the recent international break.

"Kenza Dali is back on the grass," Ward said ahead of the game against Chelsea last week. "We’re still unsure if she’ll definitely be available this weekend but she’s closing in on a return which is massive for us.”

Dali didn't make the squad on Saturday and it remains to be seen whether she'll be fit for Sunday's game against Bristol City.

Lucy Parker

In another huge blow for Villa, summer signing Lucy Parker withdrew from the England squad at the end of last month through injury. She wasn't part of the squad against Chelsea over the weekend and the manager didn't give an exact time frame for her return when she spoke to the media last week.

“Lucy [Parker] picked up an injury on [England] camp," Ward said. "She’s had a scan and been assessed, and she definitely won’t be available this weekend."
