The international break is almost over which means that preparations for the return of the Premier League can begin.

Aston Villa are back in action on Sunday afternoon in what could be a crucial game against Tottenham Hotspur. Preparations will really start when all players are back from international duty, and Unai Emery will be keeping his fingers crossed that they all return fit and healthy.

Villa currently sit in fifth place in the Premier League, just one point behind Sunday's opponents in fourth place. The position comes despite some injury concerns throughout the season.

Emery will be hoping that injury problems are now behind his squad. With that in mind here is a look at the latest from the treatment room.

Tyrone Mings

Mings suffered a long-term knee injury during the defeat at Newcastle United on the opening weekend of the season. He has since posted for the first time, thanking everyone for their support as he undergoes rehabilitation.

Possible return date: Unknown

Jacob Ramsey

After recovering from a broken metatarsal - which kept him sidelined for 10 weeks - in September, Ramsey suffered a reoccurrence of the foot injury. He had returned from injury last month in the defeat at Legia Warsaw and came off the bench in wins against Chelsea and Brighton. He could make his comeback against Tottenham after the November international break after Emery gave an update ahead of the club's match with Fulham, revealing the 22-year-old is close to returning to full training at Bodymoor Heath.

Possible return date: November 26 - Tottenham (A)

John McGinn

The midfielder is an injury concern after hobbling off during Scotland's 3-3 draw with Norway at Hampden Park on Sunday night. The injury happened after he scored and assisted in the game.

He was withdrawn with 10 minutes of the game left to play, although no update was given after the match. Unai Emery will be hoping his withdrawal was precautionary.

Possible return date: November 26 - Tottenham (A)

Diego Carlos

The centre-back missed the 3-1 win over Fulham before the international break. He could potentially be back for the game against Tottenham.

Possible return date: November 26 - Tottenham (A)

Emi Buendia

Buendia sustained a long-term knee injury on the eve of the new season.

Possible return date: Unknown
