Darren Bent believes Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale would not start at Aston Villa ahead of Emiliano Martinez.

The Gunners shot-stopper has struggled for game time at the Emirates this season after being first-choice at the North London club last season. Ramsdale started the season in goal for Mikel Arteta's side but David Raya, who joined in the summer, has become the club's regular number one.

And former Villa striker Bent has been debating where the former Bournemouth keeper could go if he left Arsenal in search of more first-team football. Bent listed a whole host of top clubs which he thinks Ramsdale would start for, but not Villa.

"This is where the sticking point is because when you look at the league table right and you start thinking about Aaron Ramsdale, I think he can go pretty much not everywhere, but there are a lot of clubs out there, I believe he's better than their goalkeeper now." he told talkSPORT.

"I would say Tottenham's no. I would say Villa's no, Martinez is a good goalkeeper. Newcastle's, I would have him over Pope. I think he's better than Onana at United in my opinion. I think he's better than West Ham's goalkeepers.

"We've just named four clubs like that who he's better than. So I don't understand why would you want him to go and make other people's better, certainly your rivals in and around you."
