Villa braced for triple blow after break
Douglas Luiz, Boubacar Kamara and Lucas Digne are treading a disciplinary tightrope with all three players one booking away from a ban.
The Villa trio have racked up four yellow cards each from the first 12 Premier League games this season. Top-flight players receive a one-match ban if they accumulate five yellow cards within the first 19 games.
Yellow card bans will only be applied to Premier League matches and will not be carried over to any cup competition such as the Europa Conference League. Villa face Fulham, Tottenham, Bournemouth, Man City and Arsenal in their next five league fixtures.

Full list of Man City FFP charges as Villa wait
Aston Villa will be waiting with interest to see the outcome of Manchester City's alleged FFP breaches after Everton received a ten-point deduction.
Everton were found guilty of breaching Financial Fair Play rules on Friday, and have since have announced they will appeal against the decision. However, the Premier League ruling has sparked debate amongst fans of several clubs ahead of the outcome of Man City's own FFP investigation, potentially a much more serious breach of the rules if proven.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that City had been charged with 115 alleged FFP breaches covering a nine-year period between 2009/10 and 2017/18.
Villa 'watching' promising starlet
Motherwell starlet Lennon Miller is the subject of transfer interest from Premier League clubs including Aston Villa, it has been claimed.
The 17-year-old came through the ranks at the Scottish Premiership outfit and made his senior debut in August of last year at just 16 years of age. He made the breakthrough to first-team this season, playing 14 games in all competitions before suffering a broken patella earlier this month.
According to teamTALK, Villa, Tottenham, Newcastle, Brighton, Brentford and West Ham are all claimed to have been "watching him on a regular basis" before his injury. Miller is regarded as one of the most promising youth players and has also been subject of interest from both Rangers and Celtic.
Possible Man City punishments analysed
The Premier League's decision to hit Everton with a 10-point deduction for failing to adhere to profit and sustainability rules has sparked speculation about what could happen to other top-flight clubs.
Treble-winners Manchester City are already facing a Premier League investigation into 115 alleged FFP breaches going back over nine years between 2009/10 and 2017/18. Meanwhile, there is speculation - and as of yet, just speculation - over Chelsea's finances during the Roman Abramovich era.
But while some clubs will be looking nervously over their shoulders, the likes of Aston Villa will no doubt be wondering what impact the fallout from Premier League action could be on them as they look to progress under Unai Emery.
