Aston Villa has emerged as a potential destination for Genoa star Albert Gudmundsson.

That's according to Calcio Mercato who highlight that he has interest from the Premier League and the big teams in Serie A. The 26-year-old impressed in Serie B last season, providing 19 goal contributions in 38 games.

Gudmundsson has carried that form into the Italian top-flight this year and has attracted admirers. Calcio Mercato state that Villa and West Ham are interested along with Napoli and Roma.

Aston Villa's Douglas Luiz told he's the 'perfect midfielder' for Arsenal as transfer plan emerges.

Arsenal consider Douglas Luiz the "perfect midfielder" as they look to sign a new midfielder in January, it has been claimed.

The Aston Villa midfielder was subject of three deadline day bids from Arsenal in the summer of 2022. Luiz then put a stop to all speculation by signing a new long-term deal.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano states that Luiz has been on Arsenal's transfer list for more than two years. Luiz is "top target" for the club, and Mikel Arteta "really want and appreciate" the Brazilian.

Manchester City could be without Erling Haaland after it emerged the striker is to sit out Norway’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Scotland on Sunday at Hampden Park due to an injury.

The Citizens’ forward took a blow to his foot on Thursday when Norway beat the Faroe Islands 2-0 in a friendly in Oslo. City face Aston Villa on December 6 although a return date has not yet been confirmed.

Villa are fifth but only three points behind Pep Guardiola’s men and the Spaniard will not want to travel to Villa Park without his talismanic goal machine.

Aston Villa star hailed as 'genius' after being 'ignored' by Unai Emery

Youri Tielemans has been praised for his ‘mental strength’ after overcoming a stuttering start to his Aston Villa career by shining at international level.

The 26-year-old was singled out as ‘fantastic’ by manager Belgium manager Domenico Tedesco after the Red Devils’ 1-0 win over Serbia on Wednesday night. Tielemans won his 64th cap and is in line for another against Azerbaijan on Sunday.

That should certainly be the case in the opinion of former Belgium and Newcastle defender Philippe Albert who echoed Tedesco’s comments and even described Tielemans as ‘a genius’. "Due to the absence of Amadou Onana [on Sunday], there should not even be a debate about this," Albert told SudPresse, via Voetbalnieuws.
