Marks and Spencer's new Harry Potter Christmas decoration range has been hailed as "superb" and "not just for Christmas " by fans of the magical series. Baubles for the Christmas tree include Harry Potter's owl Hedwig with a message in her beak and a snitch from a game of Quidditch, both priced at £8.
The M&S Harry Potter Christmas bauble range has six options and starts from £8 including for Hogwarts Castle, the Hogwart's Express train and a magical Sorting Hat. There's also a more spectacular Light-up Triwizard Cup Bauble for £12.50.
Many parents and grandparents declared that the "good quality" decorations are "amazing" adding that they were so nice they would be used for years to come. One five star reviewer said: "Very good quality much better than expected. Kids will love it for years ahead."
M&S described its Harry Potter Christmas range as adding "a magical touch to any Harry Potter fan's tree". The wizarding cup, which needs batteries, was said to be an "enchanting design that lights up for an extra festive feel and is set on a tonal velvet string for easy hanging".
The golden Hogwarts bauble has a statue that sits within a glass cloche and includes a sprinkling of white and gold confetti "to create a festive snowy scene".
"Super tree dec, it’s beautiful and lights up too, I can’t wait to hang it on my Christmas tree," said Pegsy after giving the Triward cup a five star review.
Shani said: "Bauble is beautiful and well packaged. Can't wait to hang it on our Christmas tree." A fellow shopped added: "Lovely Hogwarts bauble for Potter fans. A bit special for Christmas."
One shopper said: "Fabulous keepsake. For anyone who loves Harry Potter." Another five star review commented: "Great product for the money. The whole collection is superb. Very realistic and can’t wait to see it in my tree with the others."
Another fan said: "Great stocking filler for Harry Potter fans! Really attractive for the price! Very happy. A really good buy."
There was some criticism for the baubles. A shopper calling herself Aunty Bumps gave the snitch bauble three stars saying it was "very delicate". "Very delicate, broke very easily, it didn’t even make it onto the tree," she commented.
Another added: "I'm giving this ornament three stars because it was not as shiny as it looks in the photo. I bought it for my little granddaughter in America, it's winging its way to her as I write. She's a huge Harry Potter fan and I'd previously bought her the Hogwarts snow globe from the same set which loved.
"I expected the snitch to be shiny gold. Aside from disappointing lack of lustre, it's well made."
